Eh up....sorry you were embarrassed about doing the Rural radio slot AJ...thought you were brill myself and would love you to do it again- whenever you want- just say the word!

Nope I'll also let AJ off the hook for the panto (brill idea matt)...I see him teaming up with Naomi though. Matt can be muttons (well they would have to be country names)and I'd like to be something unsavoury..

yes the Oak Island mystery is fascinating and look forward to your next podcast once AJ has the most recent book.....as I said to you earlier in the week Matt, I park me car up when I'm driving down that way to Chester and spend a few moments looking out over the island in awe of all the tales of treasure, pirates, Knights Templar & the Holy Grail. There is talk of the next attempt to solve the mystery of the money pit costing well over $10 million....in the book I read there was mention of an ancient inscripted stone being found halfway down...

What I can't get my head around is the fact that its so perilous excavating the 'money' pit- imagine how difficult it would have been several hundred years ago with limited equipment to dig it all out?

AJ I know how interested you are about Oak Island so most weird what happened today seeing as we've been speaking about it

I was down in Mahone Bay so thought I'd drive out with me coffee to Oak Island again as it had been a few weeks since last being down there...drove down and just pulled up at the side next to that old ships cannon thats mounted on the neck of the causway..you can't go any further as you know because its private. here are some sheds and shacks as you go onto the island but the rest of it is owned by Dan Blankenship & David Tobias as a partnership.....been searching for treasure there since the 60's under their ownership I believe..

Anyway some time ago David Tobias wanted to sell his half of the partnership and it looked like Blankenship would be forced to put the island up for sale to pay off his partner....Nova Scotia was hoping to buy the island.

So- after I'd had me coffee and set off back home I thought I'd call into the Irving garage for gas and I'm waiting in the queue and a newspaper catches my eye- now I NEVER buy a newspaper. Don't know why I did it but picked it up and paid for it with the gas. Get home, open it up and the first thing I read about is

Oak Island Sold- Dan Blankenship confirms new treasure hunting partner

Anyway, luckily for Blankenship he has found another treasure hunter who will buy David Tobias's share (a group of oil and gas moguls from Michigan)

So the hunt for treasure is back on and starts in June!!!

So exciting!!!!!

Well I couldn't hold out from the hype any longer and bought the book 'The Da Vinci Code'....

Reckon it will make quite good reading!

It's a great yarn - although I thought the writing style was a bit poor.

A good fun read though.

And to make things really surreal- David (my other 1/2) knows Dan Blankenships son (or is it father? I'll ask him properly tomorrow)as they had been out sailing together last year on a friends boat...

Anyway- 'the friend' of ours is helping out building a house or something on Oak Island for the Blankenships so we may well being going on to the island soon and get a butchers at the money pit....that would be awesome if we could!

Oh great - if you manage to go - you will have to take a snap or two - would love to put a photo of Oak Island up on DSM.

Yes will do!! I must introduce an Oak Island thread on ACL too in the Canadian Chatter section...

AJ don't depair- every year there is an 'Explore Oak Island' day and this year its on the 15th-16th of August I think so if you can put up with all the tourists you'll get to see all the dubrys
