Thanks go to Tim for resolving the iTunes music problem.
If you burn the files onto CD from iTunes, you can then "rip" the CD and add it to the MP3 player!
Hooray - thanks Tim.
Thats good then- I was quite astounded when AJ said about iTunes only Ok for iPods...at least there is a way around it and that 5 quid isn't wasted!
Great podcast as always
I must admit I am looking forward to seeing your mp3 players as I haven't yet seen one that records- please show me how they work for recording audio when you come over
I double checked Davids ones the other day but sadly no recording facility :(
C xx
Yes, very useful tips from listeners.
Daniel also emailed us with this solution as well - so thank you both.
We will be happy to show you the mp3 players - its not easy finding ones which will record with an external microphone. Ours are both made by iRiver
Are they expensive if you don't mind me asking?
Whats the cheapest one they do that records?
Unfortunately it is more a qestion of availability than price as they seem to have discontinued the ones that record from a microphone.
Mine is an iRiver 799 1gb flash player/recorder and cost me £130 - they are difficult to get hold of and go for a lot on ebay.
AJ's is a H320 and is a US version which cost him £120.
Some have built in microphones but the advantage of these is they have built in mics, can use external mics and also can record line in from the mixer too.
Thanks for the clarification :)… And just thought I’d share some HK history…
Hong Kong Island—once descried as a “barren rock” located in the South China Sea—was occupied by Great Britain on January 1981 and ceded in 1842 under the Treaty of Nanking, at which point the Island was declared a Crown Colony. Kowloon Peninsular, on the north of the Hong Kong Island and across the Victoria Harbor connected to the Mainland continent, was further ceded to Britain in 1860. In 1898, the UK, concerned that Hong Kong could not be defended unless surrounding areas were also under British control, executed a 99-year lease of the New Territories (and the Outlying Islands), significantly expanding the size of the Hong Kong colony. The lease would expire at midnight, on June 30, 1997. Returning only part of the New Territories where the lease were to be expired would not be an option because large scale infrastructure has already integrated Hong Kong, Kowloon and New Territories as one piece of land and would cause tremendous social unrest. It’s nonetheless worth noting that Hong Kong were never included to participate on the discussion on the future of Hong Kong in the talks between the British and Chinese governments. Things might have changed now but I believe there if the voice of Hong Kong was represented back then, things would turn out very differently. :)
Ciao... x ;)
