Homeless

Worldly goods on way to Canada

Our worldly goods are on the container headed for Canada.

We are now in Suffolk at my mother's house. We are going to try to post a podcast from here this weekend.

Wasn't too sad leaving the house as it all seemed so long in the preparation. Sad to say goodbye to our chickens though.

wow! Look at all those boxes! Were they headed for the container?
Your comment about the chickens is interesting. So it IS possible to bond with chickens. I always wondered about that....and how it is that people raise animals and then eat them. Were your chickens layers? I was really surprised to read John Seymour's book and to find out that chickens can live to be 12 years old, but only lay eggs for 4 or 5 years. Is this so......well, I will peck away at the answers in Annapolis!
i ask because I think it would be nice to have a few chickens for eggs, but I don't think I would want to finish them off....if you know what I mean!

you gave so much away, and still so many boxes. Rest assured the yoghurt makes is being put to very good use. Cheers.

I was very fond of our chooks, but don't think that I bonded with them, still not sure how I would cope with having to cull one

I suppose the secret is not to name them!
