Hi Guys,
excellent news about Dylan. Every farm should have a dog. Good excercise for everyone.
What you need for control with walking is either a 'gentle leader', or for half the price, a 'halti' - Both fit around neck and around the muzzle and work very well.
Cheers,
Jerry
Thanks Jerry. Yes a couple of people have mentioned the Halti - I googled places to buy one in Canada - then I opened up the bag of stuff that Dylan came with from his old home and out dropped a Halti!
It has worked a charm today - shame he had becomes such a monster on the ordinary collar after being walked on the Halti before.
So I add to the endorsement.
Dylan is just fitting in so well here despite a day of over excitement moving woodburners, having chimneys swept and the wood man calling.

haltis are really good...we used one on our German Sheperd when Jess was little and she actually went on to using the collar and lead acceptably eventually ....
Dylan looksalovely dog...can't wait to say hello in person in maybe a few weeks or so..
Has Spencer come around yet?
Hi guys!
Good luck with Dylan :) I've used Gentle leader, which is like a halti with good success, but I really recommend teaching him loose lead walking :) Check out http://www.dragonflyllama.com/%20DOGS/%20Dog1/levels.html
Sue Ailsby is from up there in Canada and has been training dogs for years and years.
