Geek.Farm.Life

This week we appear on another podcast Geek.Farm.Life.
Misty and Andrew invited us onto their podcast to talk about what we are up to and how we ended up in Nova Scotia.
If you haven't listened to Geek.Farm.Life you should give the podcast a try, there is loads of information about animals, farm life, growing, harvesting, bee keeping, preserving and some geekiness thrown in too. Sound effects are provided by their dogs, geese, goats and other animals in the yard or in the barn. They even do a dialup version and a dialup feed for those of us who are broadbandly challenged.

Heard you with Andrew and Misty and this is something that may be of use. Liked hearing your views and have now subscribed and will be working on your back catalog.
About a year ago I saw a vid of a guy in Nova Scotia who put together a wireless broadband repeater system. I'll try to find that.

While this was focused on Macs, it does have application for the lesser peecees.
Interesting article. I tried the video and had to download an update to quicktime - 19.5mb on dialup so that was a long wait.
Will try the video today when I get a chance.
Welcome to downshiftme.com - we are far less organised than Misty and Andrew on the farm/homesteading front. Just arrived in North America and finding out what is what.
We enjoyed being on their podcast though.

line of sight is going to be a problem for you guys I would guess - interesting video though
Yes, it was an interesting video and very clearly done. Impressed.
We had difficulty with line of sight for the satellite TV - so yes it may be an issue. Also anything we can see is more remote than we are - I think bouncing off a mountain mast or the hydro electric station would be our only bet - and then it would be far greater distances.
I should climb a tree and see what I see.
Hey you 2 ! Time to update your profiles on here i think? Thanks for the tea on Monday! we both really enjoyed meeting you ! speak soon
