downshiftme.com is the website of Matt and AJ and the story of our change from city life in Leeds, UK to a simpler country life in Nova Scotia, Canada. Hopefully there will also be something for those who also wish to downshift for a simpler, happier, more natural lifestyle.

Sunshiney day
Its been a scorcher today and far to hot to work inside, so today I built a water feature for the nursery.
Hopefully the water will settle overnight and should be less beige tomorrow morning.
Its not a bad life, I got to womble about the nursery gathering materials (nothing bought in) and build something beautiful out of odd and ends.
AJ - playing with water, does it get any better? I love the red jug and I am sure the sound of the cascading water is wonderful. Wish I could grow Iris like that one. Were they there when you moved in, or did you plant them? Glad to hear you are getting some nice weather. Any strawberries about yet? Has the Apple Blossom Festival happened yet? I love the backroads with the lupins and the orchards full of pink and white frothy lace!
