A Happy Canada Day back at you!
I was so happy to see on bloglines that you had posted! I have wondered how you are getting along. Good luck with the vines and the garden. Have you given any thought to fruit trees?
Your comment about not doing some of the things you thought you would, but doing others hit home with me. We moved 23 times in my husband's career and I learned after a bit to have a very loose plan for what we would do in the new place. You can only plan so far ahead, because we humans cannot see around 'corners'. You have done a lot of 'new' things in the past year, and you perhaps need to just sit and list all the changes you both have made in your lives and then you will be amazed at how far you have both come in downsizing.
Good luck with life!

It's so lovely to see this video of you enjoying Canada, and to get a few glimpses of your property. I began listening to the podcast in the middle of winter and I have enjoyed it very much. There is something very soothing about listening to your recaps of the week's activities and all of the interesting things you have been getting up to.

I had been growing frustrated over the past year with the lack of progress that my husband and I have made toward our own downshifting goals. You guys have been both inspirational and instructive and have helped me channel my energies in a more positive way. All of AJ's talk of plants inspired me to create a potted herb garden on the patio, which led to a new flowerbed, which led to a small raised-bed kitchen garden.

I completely understand your need to scale back the podcasting, especially in the summertime when there is so much to do in the garden, but I wanted to let you know that you are missed and how much I eagerly await future posts and podcasts.

Happy Canada Day and best of luck with everything!
